Census Bureau: 79.6% of people in Hillsborough County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 420,504 citizens living in Hillsborough County in 2021, 79.6% were old enough to vote, equating to 334,681 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 166,393 were male, constituting 49.7%, and 168,288 were female, making up 50.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Hillsborough County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 81%.
