Lisa Mazur, Republican state representative for Hillsborough District 44 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, said she supports a decision that maintains separation in female sports as the Supreme Court considers challenges to state bans on transgender athletes.

“Heading to a First in the Nation NH meeting representing Turning Point Action,” said Mazur. “Wearing my Being Female is Not a Feeling pin, in honor of the Supreme Court hearing today. Praying they make the right decision to keep boys out of girls’ sports.”

According to a post by Mazur on X, she represented Turning Point Action at a New Hampshire meeting while wearing a pin emphasizing female identity. The post is part of ongoing legal debates over transgender participation in women’s sports, with references to the Supreme Court’s review of bans in Idaho and West Virginia.

New Hampshire enacted House Bill 1205 in 2024, which prohibits transgender girls in grades 5-12 from joining school sports teams that align with their gender identity. A federal court partially blocked enforcement for two students in September 2024, allowing them to participate during litigation. In February 2025, the state’s athletic association suspended inclusive policies to comply with federal directives restricting transgender female athletes.

As of 2026, 27 U.S. states have laws or regulations banning transgender students from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity. These measures have been mostly enacted since 2020 and affect an estimated 117,400 transgender youth aged 13-17. The bans in Idaho and West Virginia are under Supreme Court review, with similar restrictions present across Republican-led states from Alaska to Texas.

Mazur has represented Hillsborough District 44 since December 2022 and serves as vice chair of the Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee. She is also a Granite Field Representative for Turning Point Action. Mazur owns Piper’s Cove and previously worked as outreach director at Manchester Christian Church. She resides in Goffstown.
