Ridgewood Center ranks 3rd in Hillsborough County nursing home size for Q1 2026

Ridgewood Center, Genesis Healthcare was the third-largest nursing home in Hillsborough County for the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reports.

According to data, Ridgewood Center offered 150 beds, exceeding the county average by 44 as of Q1 2026. The center cared for an average of 113 residents throughout that period.

The facility earned an overall CMS rating of 2 out of 5, which is lower than the recorded 2.9 average rating for New Hampshire nursing homes.

During this quarter, Hillsborough County Nursing Home had the largest bed count—300 beds—while Southern New Hampshire Rehabilitation & Healthcare followed with 290 beds.

By Q1 2026, Ridgewood Center, Genesis Healthcare incurred one fine totaling $15,646 and faced one penalty.

A total of 16 for-profit nursing facilities operated in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the older adult population continues to rise nationwide as younger cohorts decline. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while the under-18 population dropped by 1.7%. The country’s older adult demographics have expanded significantly in the past century, increasing from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 report finds almost half of people age 65 and above—about 28 million—are likely to require long-term services and supports. The research further estimates that over one-third could need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an information group about insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
