Ross Berry, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing state policy issues and political developments.
On October 16, 2025, Berry criticized the tax policy positions of New Hampshire House Democrats, stating, “NH House Dems want a carbon tax because after they are done taxing your house, your business, your gasoline, your meals, your hotel, and your investments they can then tax your breath.”
Later, on October 17, 2025, Berry commented on efforts to end a government shutdown in New Hampshire. He wrote, “Loooooool. The people who voted for the shutdown are now leading the ‘bipartisan effort’ to end the shutdown? They could end it tomorrow. This is nothing but pure propaganda from @WMUR9 running cover for our all Democrat Delegation.”
In another post on October 17, 2025, Berry referenced the Claremont v. Governor decision regarding education funding in New Hampshire. He stated, “There’s a moment of great irony here: The Claremont v. Governor decision established that New Hampshire can’t treat towns differently when it comes to education funding. If we bail out Claremont, we’d have to offer the same deal to every district that asks. In effect,”
The Claremont v. Governor decision was a landmark case in New Hampshire that found the state was constitutionally required to provide adequate education funding and could not treat towns differently in this regard. This ruling has had ongoing implications for state education policy and funding formulas.
Berry’s comments reflect ongoing debates within the state regarding taxation, government operations, and education funding. As a state representative, Berry has frequently used social media platforms to voice his positions on these issues.
