Town of Merrimack issued the following announcement on September 8.
The contractor is beginning the roadway construction work within the Baboosic Lake Road travel lanes. To this point, they have worked outside of the Baboosic Lake travel lanes, they are now ready to begin the work within the existing roadway area. In order to expedite the process and keep the traveling public safe, there will be a temporary detour set up (see attached plan). Traffic in both directions will be diverted from Baboosic Lake Road onto Woodland Drive, Pine Tree Lane and Joppa Road during the hours specified above.
The diversion will only be between the hours of 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This will allow for the busses to pass through the area without going around the detour. Emergency vehicles responding to a call will also be allowed to pass through the area without going through the detour, to the extent possible.
What to expect:
- When Baboosic Lake Road is open to traffic, it will be gravel and not paved. Caution is advised, please slow down.
- When the road is open during the remaining working hours, it will be one way alternating.
- There will be 2 way traffic at night with lanes defined by cones and barrels.
- You might also expect to have traffic pattern changes bringing vehicles down Turkey Hill Road instead of Baboosic Lake Road.
