Town of Temple issued the following announcement on March 3.
Hello - this is an update about the fiber internet installation with CCI. As of mid-February, CCI has hired a new team, Eustis, to complete the installation. Eustis is a local NH company that has completed fiber installations for many other nearby towns. They have a reputation for fast and high-quality work. You have probably seen some of their trucks around town.
Over the past couple of weeks, Eustis has evaluated the work that had already been done. The chart below reflects the current status now that Eustis has had time to fully review work in all areas of town. This is current as of March 1st. All areas of town are now in the splicing stage. Eustis will complete splicing in all zones and then move on to testing. After testing is complete in any particular zone, service can be turned on for residents in that zone.
If you have not yet pre-registered for service, you can do so here. I highly encourage you to pre-register if you think you may want fiber internet. Pre-registering is not a binding commitment. Those who are pre-registered will be first in line for turning on service.
Fidium Fiber
CCI has rebranded their fiber business to Fidium Fiber. It is still part of Consolidated, but the webpages and other materials you see will say Fidium. This is to help distinguish between their fiber service and DSL.
Roads that Aren't Highlighted on the Map
The highlights on the map below show the main runs of fiber in town. There are a number of residential roads or sections of roads that are not highlighted. Rest assured that everyone in town is eligible for fiber service, even if your road is not highlighted. The non-highlighted roads are less populated areas that do not require big, expensive fiber lines. Instead, CCI will run smaller fiber lines to serve these areas. The smaller lines will not impact your internet speed.
Lime Green Area at the North of Town
CCI is working with TDS in areas at the far north end of town to gain pole rights so they can hang fiber on those poles. This is why the lime green area is at 86% for the fiber build. CCI has a good relationship with TDS and this is a standard procedure. However, it can take some time to complete. CCI is moving forward with the installation in the rest of the lime green area. They will finish out the fiber build for the remaining 14% of that zone once they have secured pole rights.
