Southern New Hampshire Health issued the following announcement on March 18.
This World Sleep Day, we want to remind you about the importance of sleep! Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, but it's something that many people of all ages struggle with. If you have trouble with falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting enough sleep, try adopting some of these habits:
• Establish a realistic bedtime and stick with it, even on weekends
• Maintain a comfortable sleeping environment
• Avoid using your phone, tablet, or laptop before bed
• Abstain from caffeine, alcohol, and large meals before bed
• Exercise during the day rather than in the evening so you have time to wind down and prepare to sleep
If these tips don't help, or if your sleep issues are more severe, consider speaking to your primary care provider or schedule an appointment at NH Sleep Medicine at Southern New Hampshire Health.
