Dr. Tung Nguyen, a neurosurgeon at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, recently presented his research on Barricaid, an implant inserted in the disc space in the lower back to prevent another herniated disc, at the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS) Annual Meeting in Boston.
Dr. Nguyen became the first surgeon in the Northeast to perform a discectomy with Barricaid to treat a herniated disk in December of 2020 and continues using the device to improve his patients' lives.
