On June 22, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01), a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs, joined 15 bipartisan co-sponsors to help introduce the Warrior Call Day resolution, which would designate November 12, 2023, as National Warrior Call Day. On this date, all Americans, especially active-duty and retired servicemembers, would be encouraged to reach out to U.S. service members or veterans and connect struggling veterans with mental health services.

"Our nation's active-duty service members and our veterans have made incredible sacrifices to serve our country, and in their times of need, Americans owe it to them to have their back," said Congressman Pappas. "I'm proud to join with this bipartisan group of lawmakers in introducing this resolution to create a day dedicated to ensuring those who have worn the uniform of this country know that they are not alone and understand that there is help out there for them. I remain committed to ensuring that our veterans and service members have the support and care that they need and have earned."

The Warrior Call Day Resolution was introduced by Rep. Derrick Van Orden (WI-3). Co-sponsors of the resolution include Reps. Richard Hudson (R-NC), Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), Ryan Zinke (R-MT), Wesley Hunt (R-TX), Monica De La Cruz (R-TX), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Morgan Luttrell (R-TX), Eli Crane (R-AZ), Rudy Yakym (R-IN), Ashley Hinson (R-IA), Derek Kilmer (D-WA), Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Angie Craig (D-MN), Chris Pappas (D-NH), and Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC).
